Gloria Monday’s June Thursday Fundraiser

13 June 2024, 8pm start
Nether Edge Bowling Club

Raising Money for the Roundabout Young People’s Homelessness charity and Under The Stars – bringing adults with learning disabilities into the performing arts. All income will be divided between these two great local charities.

Kate Green & Raymond Greenoaken
The Sparkle Sistaz
and Gloria Monday of course

Kate Green is a great interpreter of songs and recently she has become more recognised as a songwriter too. Always a very welcome guest and loved by our audience. Kate will be accompanied by her self-effacing sidekick, Raymond, a really excellent musician and musicologist and a mean CD salesman in his charmingly oblique way.

We are thilled to welcome The Sparkle Sistaz as our second guests. Not only are they lovely performers but they represent our charity partners, Under the Stars. It’s a unique chance to see at first hand what can be achieved by determined people supported by a great local charity.

And of course Gloria Monday, your very own stripped down Orchestra of Truth, will be opening proceedings and acting as hosts.

Tickets £4 in advance (£5 on the night if there are any left)

The Outlaw Sisters + Cold Bones
and Gloria Monday of course

Our Headline guests this month are local musicians who are very rarely seen in Sheffield so it’s a proper reunion. The Outlaw Sisters have not been seen much at all in their home city since Rose Ardron moved away from Sheffield although they have been busy with festivals and workshops in other parts of the country.

We have seen Issy Howie performing for us more than once with Bob Delbridge in ‘On the Back Porch’ bOur Headline guests this month are local musicians who are very rarely seen in Sheffield so it’s a proper reunion. The Outlaw Sisters have not been seen much at all in their home city since Rose Ardron moved away from Sheffield although they have been busy with festivals and workshops in other parts of the country.ut this month we have Issy, Rose and Jane Foggin back together on stage with their beautiful arrangements of old time music. Expect the harmonies to be delicious, the performances to be sensitive and the atmosphere to be delightful.

Sheffield songwriter Cold Bones will be playing for us for the first time. He performs original songs, often reflecting or evolving from true experience, an artist keenly aware of his local roots while being inspired by American greats such as Mississippi John Hurt, Frank Stokes and Jackson C Frank.

And of course Gloria Monday, your very own stripped down Orchestra of Truth, will be opening proceedings and acting as hosts.

Treebeard + Oranjabanj
and Gloria Monday of course

Featuring Treebeard, Sheffield’s hugely loved, vastly experienced, most eccentric folk band, led by the irrepressible and indefatigable Chris MacMahon. Here are a few reviews:
The Led Zeppelin of folk
The best Celtic folk-rock band this side of Dublin
Descendants of Gandalf, bring a hobbit

We will also have the world premiere of Oranjabanj, a duo we met playing at the friendly Forest Open Mic. This is the first time they have played a full set anywhere and we are sure you will love them. Orange has a beautiful voice, whether she is singing her own compositions or classic songs, Dan underpins her on the banjo and we are really looking forward to seeing them shine for you.

And of course Gloria Monday, your very own stripped down Orchestra of Truth, will be opening proceedings and acting as hosts. If you liked Chris and Karen as Break a Leg this is them coming back with a bit more attitude and some new songs.
