Two lovely people who are long time supporters and contributors at these events. Bob Delbridge and Issy Howie sum up what’s great about old time American music with beautiful harmonies, a warm presence and deep understanding of their art.
Issy was also a member of the Outlaw Sisters, who played for us a while back and were acclaimed for their wonderful three part harmonies. Bob is hailed as the reincarnation of Hank Williams in his role as frontman of Britain’s leading Honkytonk band, The Bapchilds
Mike Richards is another old friend who has done a huge amount to support and encourage live music in Sheffield, plus being a really great interpreter of songs. For a long time he was part of the greatly loved Americana group, Dogwood Rose, but it’s always a treat to hear him stepping out on his own account.
Plus your resident Orchestra of Truth, Gloria Monday of course. Karen & Chris have been playing together for 11 years but they continue to explore new ideas and invent new songs

Rethink Mental Illness runs the Sheffield Crisis House, offering 24 hour residential support for people experiencing acute mental health crisis. This short term but very focused intensive support can turn around the lives of people experiencing profound difficulties and distress.
Tickets £5in advance (£7 on the night if there are any left)
8 Nether Edge Rd, Sheffield S7 1RU
Doors open 7:20, music starts at 7:45pm

Sorry this event is Sold Out. You can add your name to the Returns list and we will offer any returned tickets to people on that list, in the order they are added
To start our 2025-26 season we are joining the Nether Edge Festival, a one week celebration of the arts and our community.
And we have two star guest duos, Lost Kind Words who perform beautiful soulful renderings of American music and the Pitsmoor Ladies Ukelele Chorale who combine beautiful harmonies with songs from the early years of pop music and absurdly silly tales of their musical careers.

We always enjoy this, a great day of live music in venues all around the town, raising money for Oxfam. The Hideaway is a cool cafe, should be fun.

All afternoon and evening at the Commercial, home of two regular folk clubs, with a floor spot session upstairs and guest performers downstairs in the main bar. We will be playing in the evening, more information here later.

Looks like mostly metal in the evening but we are in the whimsical afternoon playing in the sunshine.
Tickets and Information

It’s an all original music festival with music all over the town on Saturday afternoon and evening. A great free day out.
It’s our third year at Nailed It and we are really looking forward to it, new songs and even more energy to share.

Lapwing soared across the Sheffield music scene with their exquisite harmonies and we were very lucky to have them as guests last year before they had to go separate ways.
But Captain Jack Avery is never quiet for long and he is back with Cowbird. This is quite different, expect lots of songs you will want to sing along with, old time/gospel/blues/cowboy favourites, lots of voices and instruments and a great deal of fun.
We will also have a set from Beki Dunn who has the knack of singing beautiful interpretations. Plus your resident stripped down Orchestra of Truth, Gloria Monday of course.
All income from ticket sales, raffle and collection will go to Rethink Mental Illness.

Two of the finest ornaments on the mantelpiece of Sheffield music making, Julie and Tim write great songs, Tim is a master of the guitar and cello and Julie sings exquisitely. Their album, ‘Made from a Broken Star’ was featured recently on Stuart Maconie’s Freak Zone programme on Radio 6.
It’s a very long time since they were last able to play for us, with life getting in the way, so we are really pleased that they can play for us this year.
We will also have a set from Cold Bones, a great characterful Sheffield songwriter who went down a storm on his debut at thre Grand Ol’ Bowling Club last year.
And songs from your resident Orchestra of Truth, Gloria Monday of course

It’s the first time we have had Sensible Shoes as guests but you might remember Julie Pehl who has played for us twice, we’ve been hoping to get Julie and her fellow Shoes to play for us quite a while so this will be a treat.
After the multi-instrumental fun of our bands in February and March this will be a very different kind of pleasure. Sensible shoes specialise in beautiful three part harmony singing so it will be an evening to soak up the sound,
We also have our friends Oranjabanj back again with their fresh original songs, having been such a hit at the Grand Ol’ Bowling Club a year ago. Plus your resident stripped down Orchestra of Truth, Gloria Monday of course.
